"The Human Animal - A Personal View of The Human Species"

Desmond Morris' theories explain elements of human behavior from a zoological perspective in light of evolutionary adaptations. This six-part BBC series from 1994 explores all aspects of human life and behavior, from how we rear our young to our use of facial expressions and gestures. Fascinating.

Enneagrams

Enneagrams segment people into 9 personality orientations and explain the basic motivations of each type. Understanding them can be useful in all aspects of life, not just business! Take the 36-question Enneagram Sampler to get an idea of your probable type. Note that the Sampler is not scientifically validated, but it's a good place to start. Enjoy.

"The effectiveness of groups, teamwork, collaboration, and consensus is largely a myth. In many cases, individuals do much better on their own. Our bias toward groups is counterproductive. And the technology of ubiquitous connectedness is making the problem worse...."

TOPIC: Minority is the New Majority (U.S. Hispanic Market Research)

U.S. Hispanic Market Insights

Business owners and marketers struggle with how to approach the U.S. Hispanic market because they know that it is extremely segmented in terms of country of origin, language preference or acculturation level. What language do you target them in? Some are Mexican, Colombian, Argentine... they're all so different, right? The (mistaken) belief is that you can't target them as a large group, and in some sense that's true. However, there ARE ways to connect with Hispanics on a large scale. How? By understanding certain insights that are true about almost all Hispanics. These are "touchpoints." Download the whole presentation to learn more.

The Girl Effect
Investing in young women can have a bigger social impact than investing the same amount of money in other ways. To understand why, look at this video or read this document. We aren't necessarily supporting this particular organization (since we don't know it firsthand) but we agree wholeheartedly with the philosophy. If you agree, here are some other organizations that may interest you: Care (www.care.org) and Global Giving (www.globalgiving.com).
